Instrumental Music Teacher

OBJECTIVES

Wellington College International Shanghai is seeking an experienced brass teacher to work in the music department. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To teach individual and group lessons to children aged 5-18.
• To assist in the preparation and delivery of recitals and concerts. 
• To lead section rehearsals in orchestras/choirs/bands. 
• To prepare children for ABRSM exams. 
• To promote and develop an interest in brass instruments within the college.
• Any other duties commensurate with the post

JOB QUALIFICATION

• A degree in music
• An excellent command of spoken and written English
• To demonstrate a high level of performance
• Ability to teach and play additional instruments with strong performance skills
• Ability to teach a second instrument (in addition to brass) and to play the piano would be a distinct advantage
• Experience in leading contemporary ensembles such as big bands and rock groups
• Experience of teaching in a British style is desirable
• Experience as a teacher of primary students
• Experienced Brass Teacher
• Demonstrating practice that represents the five core values of Wellington at all times (Kindness, Respect, Responsibility, Integrity and Courage)
