Description & Requirements

OBJECTIVES 

To contribute to raising standards of pupil achievement and attainment in Art by working with Art Teachers to achieve whole school and departmental development targets.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To aid pupils in demonstrations and art studio classes to ensure that the needs of all pupils are met.
  • To assist with the preparation of subject materials and the safe operation of art equipment.
  • To maintain discipline in accordance with the college’s policies and encourage good practice concerning punctuality, behaviour and standards of work.
  • To attend and contribute to subject meetings.
  • To notify the designated safeguarding lead immediately about any concerns relating to a pupil.
  • To comply with the current policies and procedures of the school.
  • To display the Wellington Values at all times, either in school or in the wider community.

 

KEY TASKS

  • To assist Art teachers during lessons. 
  • To assist with the preparation and organisation of subject materials, artworks and the safe operation of art equipment.
  • To support pupil participation in Art events and competitions.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree.
  • Subject: Art or related disciplines.
  • Language: Fluent English, spoken and written.

 

EXPERTISE

  • Aptitude in drawing, painting and other Art domains
  • Prior experience working with ESL learners preferred.

 

PREFERRED APTITUDES

  • Specialist aptitude in multiple Art domains.
  • Display the five Wellington Values.
  • Proficiency with EdTech.
  • Previous Cross-cultural working experience is preferred.
