Wellington College Education (China) is part of Wellington College Education, a global network of schools united by a 160-year history of excellence with roots in the UK. We operate premium international schools under the Wellington brand and bilingual schools under the Hiba brand. We currently have six campuses in four cities in China, including Tianjin, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Nantong, with a school soon to open in San Francisco as well. WCEC Central Office
To support our schools in achieving excellence, a group of senior leaders in the Central Office set standards and strengthen operations. The Central Office provides expertise in human resources, finance, legal, marketing, facilities, academics and more. It provides support for schools within the organisation while leading new projects in China and beyond, from the design to curriculum development to pre-opening, the team plays a vital role across the organisation.

OBJECTIVES
Early Years Campus Shanghai (EYCS) is seeking an experienced HR officer to provide support to EYCS’s Human Resources operation. The HR officer will play a vital role in supporting the human resources activities organized, on track and moving forward. Candidates must have strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and can work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The incumbent is required to correspond and assemble highly confidential and sensitive information. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload, recommends changes in Human Resources practices and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruitment
- Responsible for the recruitment process, including but not limited to candidate screening, interviewing, offer management, reference checks, and onboarding.
 - Ensure compliance with Wellington College Education (China)’s Recruitment and Safeguarding Policies and practices.
 - Ensure a successful CO Safe Recruitment Audit.
 
 
- C&B
 
- Responsible for the daily maintenance of compensation data in HRIS.
 - Manage monthly payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
 - Implement annual bonus and salary review processes in alignment with performance results and compliant with the CO policies.
 - Handle all payroll-related declarations, including but not limited to monthly/annual individual income tax (IIT) filing, social average wage reporting, and the annual IIT final settlement (especially for expatriate employees).
 - Responsible for Salary Cost budget and Financial-related statements.
 - Responsible for Expat Benefits compliance with Policies.
 - Responsible for the processing and dissemination of relevant employee benefits.
 
- Employee Relations & Engagement
 
- Proactively track, record and facilitate probation and contract renewal.
 - Manage employment certificates and related proof documents.
 - Manage all employees onboarding induction and exits.
 - Facilitate appraisal goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual performance appraisals. And ensure a successful CO Annual Performance Appraisal Audit.
 - Handle employee relations matters, ensuring full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations throughout processes including but not limited to Performance Support Plans (PSP), Performance Improvement Plans (PIP), and termination.
 - Conduct employee engagement surveys and propose action plans for improvement.
 
- Expatriate Support
 
- Manage work permit and visa applications, renewals, and related documentation for expatriate employees.
 - Manage the relocation and onboarding process for expat employees arriving from abroad.
 - Specify and support Expat employees Exit Process.
 - Provide any other relevant support as needed.
 
- HR Operations
 
- Ensure a successful CO HR Audit.
 - Responsible for Education Bureau system HR related information and ensure a successful Government and Education Bureau Audit.
 - Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in HRIS and physical files.
 - Manage employment leaves to ensure compliance.
 - Collaborate with other school HR and other functions to ensure smooth execution of HR-related matters.
 - Coordinate with Fesco to administrate employment and termination for local staff, verify monthly social insurance bills.
 - Manage external HR service Vendor to support HR operation work.
 - Support training and CPD.
 - Any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
 
BASIC QUALIFICATION
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Major: Human Resources or related subject
Language: Native Chinese speaker and fluent in Business English, minimum CEM-6
Working experience: Over 5 years relevant experience
EXPERTISE
- Outstanding communication in English and Chinese
 - Strong interpersonal skills
 - An excellent track record in Human Resources related work
 - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
 - High level motivation and patience with a keen sense of personal organisation and responsibility
 
PREFERRED APTITUDES
- Open, proactive, patient and caring
 - International and bilingual school working experience is preferred
 - Cross-cultural working experience is preferred
