OBJECTIVES

To teach mathematics in an inspiring, challenging, rigorous manner to pupils in the Secondary school following IGCSE and IBDP curricula.

Teaching and Learning:

Use well-judged teaching strategies, resources, and learning styles matched to the pupils' learning needs, including various independent, pair and group activities for learning.
Deliver IB HL courses with confidence, include explorations and investigations with technology, advise with IAs and mentor EE candidates.
Experience at AA HL would be advantageous
Support Oxbridge candidates with out-of- curriculum reading, MAT, and STEP preparation.
To work in collaboration with other members of staff to prepare lesson plans, formative and summative assessments, whilst following the exam boards expectation and immersion of 21st century skills as integral part of the curriculum.
To fully support the College co-curricular activities programme, designed to enrich the school experience for the pupils.
To support the College’s vision of developing learners, connectors and changemakers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To maintain, with the rest of the teaching staff, high standards of conduct both in and out of the classroom. To always act in a way that conforms to the College ethos and values, and in the best interests of the pupils.
To carry out duties as required and timetabled by the Head of School. This will include co-curricular activates and break duties.
Ensure safeguarding measures are adhered to in accordance with The College’s Child Protection Policy.
To monitor and evaluate constantly the effectiveness of your own teaching, maintaining good standards of practice and ensuring progression – having a growth mindset.
To support and promote the colleges pastoral systems (i.e. tutoring).

BASIC QUALIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree (maths majors will have priority).

Teaching certificate with QTS.

WORK EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 2 years teaching experience at the high school level
Strong knowledge of the IB DP maths curriculum and assessment requirements
Evidence of attending IB professional development and implementation of IB ethos in lessons.
