WCEC Central Office 

To support our schools in achieving excellence, a group of senior leaders in the Central Office set standards and strengthen operations. The Central Office provides expertise in human resources, finance, legal, marketing, facilities, academics and more. OBJECTIVES

 

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Senior Communication Officer to join the Marketing team. The Senior Communication Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communications campaigns both on and offline in both Chinese and English, across various paid, owned and earned channels and platforms. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong appetite for creating content which inspires target audiences. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Content creation:

  • Support in developing annual communication plan and content roadmap for Early Years Centre (EYC), ensuring alignment with the main campus's content roadmap.
  • Draft and develop high-quality content on time according to the annual communication plan, including but not limited to owned (website, WeChat, marketing materials), paid (media partners) and earned media channels
  • To interview pupils, parents, teachers and relevant staff members with a view to creating accurate and insightful content. Collaborate with marketing and school teams to develop WeChat articles (with the quantity according to the content plan)
  • Lead on content preparation for all marketing deliverables including but not limited to prospectuses, academic booklets, yearbook, themed campaigns and related digital platforms
  • Lead EYC content distribution through owned social media (WeChat, RedNote and other media accounts) in collaboration with Main Campus content lead.
  • Keep the content up to date on a yearly basis or up to the currently needed timeframe
  • Support/lead video script development and video shooting into visualised storytelling to supply video accounts with dedicated themed videos
  • Proofread all the content in Chinese and have them delivered in a polished and readable format and keep the bilingual content aligned

Media communication & KOL Management:

  • Develop media/KOL relationships and coordinate annual plan for EYC
  • Develop quality content for best identified Chinese media exposure
  • Support manager to develop the media kits, press releases and media coverage when needed
  • Assist manager in researching trends in the education industry and competitors' topics and activities
  • To be sensitive with hot topics, to connect suitable hot topics with brand information
  • Responsible for EYC social listening 
  • Monitor, moderate, and respond to audience comments and queries in a timely and professional manner to foster a positive online community

Graphic Design:

  • Take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, layouts and other designs. 
  • Organising the production of proofs and liaising with suppliers.
  • Preparing designs for digital or print publication.

Tracking and Reporting

  • Be responsible for EYC marketing dashboard data upload and check according to group wide marketing effectiveness guideline.


Any other duties commensurate with the post or requested by the manager.

BASIC QUALIFICATION

 

Education: 

Bachelor’s degree or above

 

Major: Journalism, Communications, or a related field 

 

Language: 

Strong writing abilities in both Chinese and English

 

Working experience: 

5 years or more of professional experience in media, PR, marketing, or communications, gained either in-house or at an agency

  • Experience managing multiple native and international social media channels
  • Experience developing content from concept to storyboard through to release
  • Familiarity with education industry
  • Appreciation for learning
