OBJECTIVES

 

Provide effective and high-quality service of nursing and first aid care to pupils and staff and keep well document.

 

Check and prevent contagious diseases, frequently occurring diseases, and seasonal diseases; prepare document as required and cooperate with inspections by the Center of Disease Control and education bureau.

 

Communicate with parents and staff about pupils’ health condition. Deal with difficult situation related to medical issues. Always share the health information to relevant members.

 

Maintain a high standard of emergency preparedness, ensuring rapid and effective medical intervention.

 

Provide guidance and professional development opportunities for junior nurses.

 

The Senior Nurse will hold responsibility for the promotion of health and wellbeing, possessing a sound understanding of current research on related matter alongside a solid working understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Establish annual plan and guidelines for school nurses.
  • Regular review school policy and nurse manuals regarding health & hygiene.
  • Oversee daily nursing operation and meet high standard. 
  • Ensure that all children’s health records are up to date. Establish individual care plan for pupils or staff as necessary. 
  • Maintain a high level of order, safety and strict control over medical supply.
  • Respond to medical emergency situations. Provide proper first aid or nursing treatment as appropriate, immediately report to the management team. and follow up.  Be available past normal work hours to deal with such emergency, if necessary. 
  • Organise annual medical check-up for pupils as needed.
  • Co-ordinate first aid training across staff and beyond.
  • Assist with promoting health, establishing health education plan catered for pupils, staff, parents and the wider community.
  • Follow procedures to carry out department risk assessment.
  • Arrange support for sports or school events.
  • Keeping teachers informed with pupils’ health and hygiene conditions and work closely with the operations team on cleaning and disinfection.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations issued by the CDC and government authorities. 
  • Establish contact with local CDC and external agents and ensure timely reporting of contagious disease and seeking of advice as needed.
  • Actively participates in any related training held by the school.

 

 

Personal Qualification:

Basic Qualification:

Education: Bachelor’s degree

Major: Nurse

Language: Fluent written and spoken English and Chinese

 

Experience:

  • Working Experience: At least 5 years of clinical experience with minimum 2 years working in school or kindergarten.
  • Management Experience: Experience of management of teams is preferred


Expertise:

  • Experience of working in an educational setting preferred 
  • Deep knowledge of clinical experience 
  • A minimum of five years’ post qualification experience
  • Punctual
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
  • Adaptability, initiative and flexibility
  • Rigorous approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to priorities workload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with a diverse range of people and interpersonal skills

  • Able to work long hours and occasional weekends for emergencies
